SIO Forum: Networking For Operations Professionals In partnership with

SIO Forum: Networking for Operations Professionals Purpose  The SIO Operations Forum exists to enable practitioners within financial services to connect with colleagues from across and beyond the sector around areas of shared interest.  The forum seeks to promote a sense of community where colleagues can share best practice and explore issues facing them, their organisations and the industry as a whole. Frequency of Meetings  Approximately 8 meetings in a year as well as an annual networking social event. Venue  Meetings will be hosted in central venues in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Format of Meetings  A mix of technical presentation and peer discussion aimed to provide opportunity to learn and network. Organising Committee  The forum will be managed by an organising committee comprised of practitioners from SIO’s network. Current committee membership includes:  Vida Rudkin & Sharon Shaw (co-chairs)  Pardeep Cassells  James Forbes  Elspeth Henderson  Alan Thornburrow

SIO Forum: Upcoming Events 21 st January, Glasgow: Culture and Behaviour Starting the year with a look at culture and behaviour in Financial Services organisations  Explore whether Risk Culture exists, or whether this is simply an iteration of Organisational Culture.  Examine the impact of leadership and the leadership actions on culture and behaviours  Consider the regulatory focus on culture, in for the form of accountability (for example, through the Senior Manager Regime) 18 th February, Edinburgh: Cyber Security Cyber Security - how can we protect our organisations in an increasingly online world? 21 st April, Glasgow: Regulatory Change A cross-industry discussion panel sharing thoughts and ideas on the impact of Regulatory Change on our organisations  What is the true impact of regulatory change on resource and workloads?  How is the industry managing the speed and volume of change?  What can we learn from the implementation of recent regulatory changes?  Thoughts on effective introduction of upcoming change by organisations 19 th May, Edinburgh: Leveraging Third Party Vendors A two way overview of Third Party Vendors  The client : how best to manage and utilise the performance and capabilities of third party organisations, with a specific focus on Custodians and Brokers  The Third Party Vendor : how Third Party Vendors can support clients, and work in partnership to sustain and evolve performance The rest is up to you!
