11 Experience Assessment
Direct route to professional membership. Use your experience to achieve recognition for your achievements. Suitable for generalists and specialists across the HR and L&D profession. Progression route from Associate to Chartered Member and Chartered Fellow Enables those without a CIPD qualification a route to membership Focusses predominately on experience over the last three years. Draws on a range of examples to demonstrate your level of professional membership. If you have completed a CIPD Advanced Diploma in Human Resources Management or Development, you do not need to undertake EA.

Headlines: Challenging, yet enjoyable assessment process Your HR expertise will be explored in-depth and benchmarked against the standards in the CIPD Profession Map You can showcase your strengths and reflect on your development needs - it’s a positive learning experience Your work will be assessed by an experienced HR practitioner. They will also help you reflect on your future career Outcomes: Summary feedback report with insights to inform your future development If you meet the standards, you will be awarded Professional Membership of the CIPD You’ll receive an official CIPD certificate and can include designatory letters after your name e.g. Ivan Kutz Chartered MCIPD

13 How does Experience Assessment work?

14 Experience Assessment overview
1. Pre-assessment discussion 30 minute telephone discussion to determine eligibility. 2. On-line assessments completed over 8 weeks Assessments to demonstrate skills and capture evidence of experience. 3. Professional Discussion 3 ½ hour in-depth interview (via internet) reflecting on achievements & future development. 4. Award of Chartered or Associate status plus development report.

15 CIPD Pre-Assessment Discussion
Determines whether this process is right for you now: Do you have enough experience? Which level of accreditation? FREE 30 minute telephone discussion with an experienced HR professional ‘Mini’ assessment, part coaching and opportunity to ask questions about the process At the end of this discussion we will confirm whether Experience Assessment is appropriate for you. If so, we will also recommend the level of membership you should apply for. You will then be sent the relevant application forms.

16 8 week Online Assessment
‘Impact Report’– details experience & business impact with real life examples Self Assessment and colleague feedback HR Case Study – participants have 14 days to produce a 2,500-5,000 word report providing views on business priorities and issues and implications for HR plus an action plan or strategy

Final part of the assessment - a virtual (Skype)/face to face 3 ½ hour discussion with a CIPD assessor Opportunity to discuss and explore further all other evidence submitted through the assessment process Also includes a brief review of your approach to the case study Often a chance to reflect not only on past achievements but also future aspirations

21 How long will it take?

22 Timescales 4 months start to finish
Pre-assessment discussion (30 minutes) – determine your eligibility and member level. Months 1 & 2 Register and become a CIPD student member. Complete your on-line assessments over 8 weeks. (Your commitment is likely to be the equivalent to approximately eight full days) Month 3 Professional discussion (3 ½ hours) – meet your assessor virtually for the final part of the assessment. Month 4 Results and feedback report. Become a professional member & receive your certificate.

Assessment Fees: Associate Member £1,996 (approx. €2395) Chartered Member £2,045 (approx. €2454) Chartered Fellow £2,375 (approx. €2850)
