The scientific name for Orangutan It means “Man Of The Woods.” Orangutans are mammals.

*.Orangutans are red haired apes. They are always hairy except for when they have just been born because then it will take a few weeks. Orangutans aren’t very tall they are very small if you see them unless they are still a baby they will usually be slouching.

* The orangutans most serious threat is the destruction from accessive logging. They will usually live to a very old age no one is sure how old but usually eighty or seventy.

Orangutans usually like to live up trees in rain forests because its not too hot and it’s not to cold. If not they will live in zoos.They are found in 3 difrent places... Indnesia on the islands of Borneo and Summatra.

* Orangutans will swing branch to branch * To get to a tree to see if there is * Any food like bananas.they don’t eat animals they only eat fruit like straw berrys, bannanas, and there favorite is pinapples.

*. Orangutans do not go hunting they stay at there home.. They only eat fruit that is why they never go hunting..when they have kids under age 7 they will usually be outside teaching there kids to swing from branches.. If not they will be showing them ways to survive when live alone.

*. They usually sleep throuhg the day.. Orangutans will be up a tree or teaching there babys new things..Orangutans will stay with there mom until age 7.

* Orangutans have long arms that help them swing from branches..Orangutans use there long arms to reach far if a predator is near by.. Orangutans live with there family for less than 5 years and they only live with there mom for 3 years.

*.Orangutans are the largest tree living animals in the world.. They have no prey. They can get human diseases and no other animals can.
