3 Animal Facts Description A sloth’s colors are grey, brown and slightly green because it is algae growing on its back. A sloth’s height is 2 to 3 feet. A sloth has fur not hair. A sloth’s hair part is on its tummy, not back because a sloth is usually upside down so when rain falls all the water will all slide off. A pic showing your animal. Movement A sloth swings from tree to tree. When a sloth is on the ground it drags it self with it’s hands. A sloth moves very slowly. It is the slowest mammal on earth. Diet A sloth is a herbivore. That means it never eats meat. A sloth’s favorite thing to munch on is leaves.

4 Habitat A sloth lives usually Central South America in the rain forest. It’s habitat is in the trees. It almost never goes out of its tree. A sloth lives in tall trees so it can get leaves that other animals can not reach. The adaptions that a sloth has to survive is it spends most of its living upside down. 5 Life Cycle A sloth has live birth. One at a time. It takes 5 to 6 months to have a baby. The mom takes care of the baby for a few months. The baby looks like the mom and dad but smaller. A baby sloth is called a pup. A picture of the animal as a baby or young. A picture of the animal as a grown/ mature animal. Adults live a mate which is female and male. Then they have pups. Sloth have a flat head, big eyes, short snout, long legs, and tiny ears, sturdy curved claws. A sloth lives up to 30 years.

6 Animal Interactions A sloth protects itself by having sharp curved claws, sharp teeth and also algae growing on its fur to camouflage in the forest. A sloth communicates by making a low tone when finding a mate and protecting its habitat. Usually mom to baby. A female screams to the male to tell him she is ready to mate.
