Session Agenda: ​Definition of CV and importance of it. ​Features of Resume. ​Components of resume. ​Write a well-organized and professional resume. ​Know how to attract employers toward your resume. ​Do's and Don'ts in writing your resume.​

What is Resume ? The term “résumé” comes from the French and means a “summary.” That’s exactly what your resume is: a summary of your qualifications, skills, and achievements. It details your skills and training, work experience, education, the accomplishments you have made. ​it's not just about information, but it's about you.​

Why Resume ? ​Employers don't hire on the basis of a resume alone , but resume should motivate an employer to meet you. ​So, the purpose of a resume is to get an interview not a job.​

Features of Resume : ​Neatness, organized, clarity, comprehensiveness, one to two pages max, perfect grammar, punctuation and tailored to the available job.​

Components of resume: ​Heading ​Career objective ​Educational background ​Work experience ​Training courses ​Extra-curricular activities ​Skills ​Interests ​Personal data​

Components of resume: ​Heading​​ Contains of: - Your Name - Your address - your cell phone number - your formal or professional E-mail

Components of resume: ​Career objective:​​ - Why you applied for this company? - Your long run plan from this job. - must be realistic, proper, clear and specific.

Components of resume: ​Educational background:​​ Your qualification: - University - Faculty - major - grade: if it's good or above absolutely - if u study int,'l certification like CMA..etc. - your testing score like GMAT...etc.

Components of resume: ​Work experience:​ - it seems to be strength point in your resume. - Write your position, name of the company and your tasks in this job. - arrange them from the latest to the oldest one.

Components of resume: ​Training courses:​ This section include: - Your courses. - scholarships. - summer trainings. - Write your position, name of the course, training center and course contents. - arrange them from the latest to the oldest one.

Components of resume: ​Extra-Curricular activities:​ This section include: - Student activities. - Volunteering works. - Simply this section reflect your role in your community. - strength point in your resume. - Roles and responsibilities inside the organization or team work.

Components of resume: ​Skills:​ This section may include: - Computer skills. - Language skills. - Administration and interpersonal skills.

Components of resume: ​Interests:​ This section include: - Interested. - hobbies. - add what is related to your job.

Components of resume: ​Personal information:​ This section include: - Birth date. - Military status. - Gender in case of specific names. - Nationality

Do's and Don'ts in writing your CV: ​Do's in writing your resume:​ - You should arrange your CV according to your job. - CV should be written with times new roman & Tahoma fonts. - you can add non basic sections such as self study section. - made it simple and clear. - focus on grammar mistakes and punctuation. - Dates in CV is very important.
