Seeds appear in fruits Seeds eventually grow into new plants.
Plants Plants supply oxygen that most organisms need to stay alive They also supply food for many organisms.
SEED PLANTS Characteristics of Seed Plants Most seed plants have leaves, stems, roots, and vascular tissue Reproduce by seeds, which contain an embryo.

Presentation transcript:

Angiosperm  A seed plant that produces flowers

Cambium  A layer in plants that Separates the xylem and phloem

Cellular Respiration  The plants use oxygen to break down sugars

Gymnosperm  A seed plant that does not produce a flower

Phloem  Moves sugars in the leaves to other parts of the plant

Photosynthesis  The process of making food for the plant using sunlight

Transpiration  Loss of water through the plant leaves

Xylem  A series of tubes that move water and nutrients up the stem of the plant

2. Roots absorb water, stores food, and anchors the plant.

3.The root caps cover the tip of the root

4. Stems have two main fuctions support the plants & serve as a transport system

5. Photosynthesis

6. Stoma

7. Carrott

8.Wood stems are strong and made of bark. Soft stems are weak, green, and can bend.
