This is a brilliant way to collect donations from friends and family who have access to the internet. Opting to gift aid donations is simple and the money goes directly to the Hospice which eliminates the need to go around after the event and collect donations. Supported by Collecting Sponsorship How to set up an online fundraising page Using a paper sponsorship form Step 1: Use the following link to the Virgin Money Giving Home Page Step 2: Click ‘Start Fundraising’ located along the top. Step 3: Click ‘Organised Event’ Step 4: Type in the following details: Event Name: Woofs and Wellies Event Date: April 2016 Location: Hampshire Type of Event: Walking Step 5: Select 5 & 10K Run and click ‘next’ Step 6: Fill out all of your information! Step 7: Your ready to start fundraising! Remember to ‘Gift Aid’ TitleFirst Name & Surname GIFT AID Postcode House Name Or Number Street,Town and CountyAmount Paid YES / NO Date Paid MrAndrew. Smith  XX24 9NB17Some Street, Somewhere, Hants£10 YES Ask your sponsors to complete the form with their full details (see example below). Please do remember to ask your sponsors to ‘Gift Aid’ their donation if they are a UK taxpayer as we can claim an extra 25% on their donation. All they need to do is tick the box and fill out their full name, address and postcode. It’s that easy!

Fundraising Tips! 1.Make sure your fundraising page is compelling and explains your motivation. Set yourself a goal and make people aware of it! 2.Add pictures to your page so people can see how hard you are training! 3.Time your donation request as people are more likely to be generous with their sponsorship after payday. 4.Don’t forget to ask for Gift Aid as it means more money goes to your charity. 5.Ask close friends and family to donate first as other people may then match their generosity. 6.Tell people what your fundraising target is and what their contribution will help achieve for your charity (see example costs below) 7.Add some perspective around a suggested donation e.g. £10 might mean missing a takeaway dinner. 8.Interact on social media; keep sharing your Virgin Money Giving page. Did you know that 45% of traffic comes from mobile devices and 30% of donations are given using a mobile device? 9.Keep reminding people to sponsor you! On average, it takes 2-3 s to get 1 donation. 10.Set yourself small weekly fundraising targets rather than thinking about a daunting total target. 11.Collect donations before your event – as soon as the money is received, we pass it on to your charity so they benefit straightaway. 12.Get friends and family to spread the word about your fundraising too – they’ll be keen to help you get more sponsors. 13.Mention your fundraising event in your answerphone messages, signatures, notice boards, anywhere you can! Example Costs Cost of Drugs and oxygen for 1 hour £5 Cost of a Bereavement Counselling Session £20 Cost of a physiotherapy or OT session £25 Cost of attending an Out patient Wellbeing session £50 Cost of drugs and oxygen for a day £120 Cost of an anti fall mattress £150 Cost of a Hospice at Home visit £240 Cost of a patient staying in the Hospice for a day£480 Cost of pharmacist per week to dispense and ensure effective medication £500 Cost of Medication and Oxygen for all patients for a week £840 Cost per year of maintaining our Nurse call bell system £2,000 Cost of the average stay of a patient in the Hospice (10 days) £4,800
