OCS-Novell Software Features - Print vending to accounts (centralized). - Centralized transactions. - Operates very similar to Stand alone. - One Print station services many clients. - One reader attached to each print release station - Jobs identified in print Queues - NDS Compliant

Licensing OCS Novell supports hard and soft key licensing Hard Key licensing requires that a Sentinel Security Key (dongle) is attached to LPT1 Soft Key licensing requires that a License file Be obtained from OCS OCS Novell can fully operate in the Demo\evaluation mode while either license is being obtained

1)Sign on to Novell server using the administrator’s account. 2)Create a new user (if necessary) for the Print Station(s) to use to gain access to the network. This new user must have read access to the entire Novell System volume 3)Create a new printer queue on the server. Do not attach any printer servers or printers to this queue 4)Give everyone Queue User permissions to this queue. 5)Give the login account for the Print Station Queue Operator and Queue User permissions for this new queue. 6)Log in to the Novell server, using the proper login account for the Print Station on the actual machine that will be used as the Print station. 7)Verify that you can print correctly to the destination printers Installation instructions - server setup

Printers OCS can charge for local or networked printers OCS can vend more than one printer each with its own cost for B&W and Color output. The window viewed will depend on reader selected

Using the System The user “prints” from windows to the queue on the server. Then goes to release station

The Release Station The user selects their jobs and presses print

OCS Shows the Charges

The User Pays and the job is sent to the printer The user is prompted to ‘Please Insert Funds’ (if not enough money is inserted “Insufficient Funds - Cancel” is displayed. Once their card or coin is inserted the ‘Print’ button becomes active. And the ‘ $ Before’ and ‘$ After’ fields fill in. The user mouse clicks ‘Print’ and the value is debited, the card returned or change given, and the data is sent to the local or networked printer.
