2 Differences RM Alerts vs RM Monitor

3 Differences  Obtaining information:  RM Alerts is passive in the sense that information is automatically sent once a trigger has been activated.  RM Monitor is dynamic requiring you to actively push the data to the device

4 Differences  Accessing Data  RM Alerts can be integrated in the ASI’s WO for onsite monitoring within the network in addition to sending data over the internet.  RM Monitor requires an internet connect

5 Differences Information Available  RM Monitor provides a snapshot of current business activity along with Alerts  RM Alerts sends data as requested (triggers) in segments (specific alerts) or in familiar report format.

6 Differences Cost  RM Alerts comes included with Restaurant Manager. The only cost comes with charges by internet providers.  RM Monitor requires a subscription charge

10 RM Alert Setup  Store Information  SMTP Server - enter in the outgoing mail server information given by the e- mail provider (ISP).  SMTP User - enter the user email (outgoing purposes

11 RM Alert Setup  Store Information  SMTP Password - enter the same password you use to access the e-mail account.  Admin E-mail - information entered here will appear as sender information to the recipient. The data in this field has nothing to do with the SMTP accounts

14 RM Alert Setup  Four Options Under Setup  Internet e-mail address - Launches RMMsgdef.exe  SMTP Server – Launches RM BackOffice  Send Test E-mail – Use to test e-mail account  RM Monitor Registration – Launched RM Registration form Most options can be accessed from elsewhere

15 RM Alert Setup The Send Test E-mail-option will send a test email to the first recipient on the Message Definition Form

16 RM Alert Setup  Message Definition Form (RMMsgDef.exe) is used to:  Create recipients  Define type of message (report or alert)  Define triggers for message

17 RM Alert Setup  Message Definition Window  Description- this column displays the message name you enter when creating a new message definition.  Recipient- this column displays the name of the person who will receive the alert or message.

18 RM Alert Setup  Message Definition Window  Content- shows the data entered in the Content tab. This will either be a static text message or a report folder found in the RM Report Module.  Schedule- this information in this column will show the RM Trigger for alerts or the scheduled time for a message or report.

29 RM Monitor Requirements  RM Monitor can only be installed on systems with a valid security key: RM Monitor will not recognize a demo software key.  RM Monitor is only compatible with Restaurant Manager Version 17 on builds dated 17.0.2009.4221 and later.

31 RM Monitor Registration Form  Chain Name- Place the name of the chain in this field. If this is a single store operation (not part of a chain), enter the name of the restaurant itself (store name).  Chain E-mail Address- Enter the email address of the person who will be administrating user information or those who will have access to the store information. Separate users are setup under the RM Monitor Admin page for your chain.  Chain Admin Username- The name entered in this field will be used when accessing and managing the various aspects on the RM Monitor Admin page.

32 RM Monitor Registration Form  Chain Admin Password- The information entered in this field will be used when accessing the RM Monitor Admin page.  Serial Number- This field will be automatically filled in.  Store Name- This field will be automatically filled in based on the user license. However, you may edit the name if necessary as might be the case to denote a specific store in a chain.  Store E-mail Address- Enter the store’s email address in this field. This information placed here will appear in the Manage restaurant

36 RM Monitor Installing on Computer Browser- type http://rmmonitor.rmpos.co m/RMMonitor under the Internet Browser address field. Save site page as “bookmark” or “favorite ”

37 RM Monitor Installing on Smart Phone  Open internet browser- type in the following: http://rmmonitor.rmpos.com/rmm onitor/mobile/login.aspx  Add the web page to favorites or bookmark once you are at the site and the above screen is shown.

39 RM Monitor App Store On the I Phone/IPod Touch select the App Store icon

40 RM Monitor App Store  Type in “rmpos” in the search bar, and the hit search.

55 RM Monitor Accessing Administration Page RM Monitor only allows one administrator to make changes and requires the administrator account to do so. Administrators may access the RM Monitor Admin page for the chain by going to:  http:/rmmonitor.rmpos.com and selecting the “Manage Account” option and then enter in the administrator name and password.  http://rmmonitor.rmpos.com/rmmonitor/Desktop/Login. aspx and then enter in the administrator name and password.

56 RM Monitor Remote Access  Desktop Computer- RM Monitor, the program will lead you directly to the Admin page.  Mobile Device- enter the administrator name and password to access administration page.

57 RM Monitor Subscription  RM Monitor is a subscription service  RM Monitor currently uses Paypal  Subscribe/unsubscribe to RM Monitor under the “Setup Subscription Billing” tab on the RM Monitor Admin page.  Each store must have their own subscription

59 RM Monitor Add New Users  First and last name of user  Create a Login Name  Create and confirm a user password- it is suggested but not necessary that you use an alphanumeric code.  “Save” to update user information

63 RM Monitor Manage Restaurant Access The Setup Restaurant Access form is broken into three sections: Users- The drop down menu in this field alphabetically lists

64 RM Monitor Manage Restaurant Access Allow/deny- The option will toggle allowing you to deny or allow access to restaurants.

65 RM Monitor Manage Restaurant Access Restaurant- Select one restaurant or several by clicking and dragging the mouse across the list of restaurants

66 RM Monitor Manage Restaurant Change data for a particular restaurant  Misspelled Restaurant Name  Restaurant Email Address The rest of the fields are automatically populated

68 RM Monitor Viewing Data Use the Update function on RM Monitor to get the most up to date information. The Update icon may be different colors between devices.
