Energy lights our cities. Energy powers our vehicles.

Energy warms our homes, cooks our food, plays our music, gives us pictures on television. Energy powers machinery in factories and tractors on a farm.

Where does it come from?

How do you use energy? At Home? Lights, TV, DVD Player, Sky Box, X-Box, Cooker, Washing Machine, Dryer, Microwave, Phone Charger, Computers, Printers, Central Heating Boiler, Hair dryers, Kettle, Toaster …… and many more

How do you use energy? At School? Lights, Whiteboard & projector, Computers, Printers, Cookers, Washing Machines, Dryers, Microwaves, Photocopier Central Heating Boiler. TV, DVD Player

So how much does it cost?

Energy Higher or Lower? For 3 hours a day £/Month = £0.21

Energy Higher or Lower?

HIGHER For 3 hours a day £/Month = £2.08

Energy Higher or Lower?

HIGHER For 3 hours a day £/Month = 2.70

Energy Higher or Lower?

LOWER For 5 hours a day £/Month = 2.38

Energy Higher or Lower?

HIGHER For 2 hours a day £/Month = 17.36

Energy Higher or Lower?

LOWER For Average family use £/Month = 7.24

Do you think you waste energy & water in the school? Results of Secret Audit

Results of Secret Audit 5.1

Why should we save energy? 1.To SAVE the environment 2.To SAVE the Earth’s non-renewable sources 3.To SAVE money

Source – npower climate cops Loss of habitats for wildlife Flooding Droughts Negative effects of climate change

2. To SAVE the Earth’s non-renewable sources Source – npower climate cops

Most of the UK’s electricity is produced by burning fossil fuels like coal, oil and gas These will eventually run out Source – npower climate cops

3. To SAVE money Source – npower climate cops

How can we win? Competition categories Best Campaign Mascot Best Campaign Slogan Best Video of Energy Campaign Best Action Plan for Reducing Energy and Water Most Improvements in Reducing Energy and Water

…and finally, what should we call our outdoor classroom spaces? Please put your suggestions on the back of your idea bubble sheet, thanks. B. A.
