Oxygen carbon dioxide The respiratory system is the system of the body that deals with breathing. When we breath, the body takes in the oxygen it needs.
 The respiratory system uses many parts for breathing in oxygen and releasing carbon dioxide.  These include the nose, the trachea, and the lungs.
Functions of the Respiratory System Brings oxygen in from the environment for our body cells, and removes carbon dioxide waste. Main components: – Nose.

Respiratory System Sample Presentation

ORGANS The main organs that make up the respiratory system are: Mouth Nose Lungs Trachea Bronchi Diaphragm

Respiratory System The respiratory system supplies oxygen to the blood, and in turn to every cell in the body.

Respiratory System Air pressure causes our body to breath in and out, bringing oxygenated air into the lungs. Air follows the pathway below: Mouth/nose Larynx Trachea Bronchi Lungs

Respiratory System Within the lungs, the bronchi branch into smaller bronchi and even smaller tubes called bronchioles. Once inside the lungs, oxygen is extracted from the air and passes to the blood stream, where it enters the cardiovascular system.

Fun Facts The breathing rate in women and children is faster than in men. When you yawn more oxygen goes into your lungs. Breathing is an involuntary action, controlled by air pressure and the diaphragm.

Fun Facts Our lungs can hold up to 6 liters of air. The right lung is slightly larger than the left. Does anyone know why? A person at rest usually breathes between 12 and 15 times a minute
