Size Dependent Physical Properties

A physical property is a characteristic of matter that you can observe or measure without changing the identity of the matter.

SOLID LIQUID GAS States of Matter

Mass vs. Weight Mass is the amount of matter in an object. Weight is the pull of gravity on matter. Weight changes with location (gravity), mass does not. Mass vs. Weight

What is the difference between mass and weight? If you were to go to the moon, explain whether mass or weight would change. Think Pair Share

Volume is the amount of space something takes up.

Differentiate between mass and volume. Think Pair Share

4 - Design an experiment to determine the identity of an unknown using its physical properties. 3 - Classify and compare substances based on their physical properties. 2 - Calculate and describe the densities of various materials through the measurement of their masses and volumes. 1 - Explain the difference between mass, weight, and volume.
