SWMS Library Policies Mrs. Smith Library Media Specialist

 Check out Library Books with your ID Card. (Or we can use your Student # or Last Name.)  Can check out up to 2 books OR magazines at a time (or one of each!).  Get to have book/mag. for 2 weeks.  Can renew a book/mag. ONCE to get an additional 2 weeks (for a total of 4 weeks—that’s a month!). Library Policies – Checkout

 Overdue Notice will be put in your Homeroom Teacher’s mailbox if book/mag. is not returned or renewed on time.  Will not be able to check out anything else until overdue item is returned or renewed.  Parents will get then a call home, then notices sent home.  If a book is lost or damaged beyond repair, you must pay the cost of the book to replace it.  If a book you want is checked out, you can have Mrs. Smith or Mrs. Muntz put a hold on it.  As soon as the book is returned, we will put it aside for you and put a note in your Homeroom Teacher’s mailbox to come get the book.  You will have 1 school week to come pick up the books, otherwise it will be put back on the shelf.  Be in seat prepared to start when bell rings:  library folder and pencil – for Library Class  homework or independent reading book – for EET/Study Hall  Raise hand to speak and wait to be called on before talking.  Pay attention and listen to directions.  Use work time wisely to complete assignments, not talk.  Be respectful to others (think SWMS Character Traits). Library Behavior Expectations

 No Food or Drink in the Library (including gum).  Computers are for doing work, not games. Ask to print.  Must Sign-In in the binder on the Circulation Desk if you come to the Library, but not for Library Class.  Library open After School Tuesday-Thursday. Need to Sign Up by 1:00 and have work to do or read. Must be here by 2:50, cannot leave until 3:30 without special permission. Library Policies – General Info./Rules
