Basic Information Your lunch number is your library number! Two (2) books for two (2) weeks You may exchange your books at any time. You do not have to keep them for the entire two (2) weeks.

You may renew a book ON or BEFORE the due date. Books may be returned to the box outside the library or left on the table next to the Circulation Desk. Overdue notices will be sent out each week.

Once a book is two (2) days late, you will be charged a fine of 5 cents per day. If you have an overdue book or owe a fine, you will NOT be allowed to check out any books until your account is cleared.

VERY IMPORTANT! You should examine materials for damages prior to checkout. Don’t checkout books for, or loan books to, a friend. We don’t want you to pay for someone else’s mistake! If anything happens to the book, you will be held responsible because it is checked out in your name.

What do I need to do when I checkout? You will need to know your library number. It is the same number used in the cafeteria and for logging into the computer. Know your number! What if the security alarm sounds? Everyone exiting should stop. If your item appears to be the cause, step back to the circulation desk and we will investigate the problem. Don’t panic.

What if we don’t have the book? Let us know. We will add your suggestion to our “Wish List.” What if all of our copies are checked out? At the circulation desk, ask us to place the item on hold. When your turn comes up, we will give your teacher a notice. You have 3 days to checkout the reserved book.

What if I forget to return my book on time? Fines are 5 cents a day for overdue books. Always look for damages before you checkout your book. We do charge fines for damaged and lost books. What if my lost book is found and returned? Our bookkeeper will send a check to your parents.
