Mini-Lessons Mini-Lessons are the minivans of workshop. They can hold a lot of information in a compact space. Using Canvas you can create effective mini-lessons through: Modules Content Pages URLs PDF’s
Modules Modules are the trunk of the minivan. They hold a lot of information and can even help you stay organized. Modules can separated by lesson, unit, and/or concept. The following can be added to the module to create a complete mini-lesson: Content Pages Files (prefer PDF’s) External URL’s Discussions You can also add: Assignments Quizzes

Content Pages Content Pages can be added to store important information you would normally relay to your students verbally. Think of Content Pages as the comfy, heated bucket seats of a minivan. Content Pages can hold the following: Images Videos Audio Files Embed various different applications from Forms, Nearpod presentations, and Quizlets just to name a few.

External URL’s External URL’s can be added to direct students to information via a website.
Files/PDF’s Files/PDF’s can be placed in numerous places including: Modules, Assignments, Content Pages, Calendar, Announcements, and/or the Files tab. Files/PDF’s are the glove compartment of the minivan. They hold all sorts of stuff that you may need. As an instructor, you can lock the folders so students cannot access your files. Files can be locked until you are ready for students to view them.
Discussions Discussions are the sports car of workshop. Fast and efficient they provide a place for even the quietest student to express themselves. Discussions in Canvas can be used for: Quick Writes Reading Connections Peer Review Reading Responses
