3 Google Drive is a cloud storage service ●Offers 5GB of free storage space. ●Allows you to access your files from any computer ●Eliminates the need for a flash drive. What is Google Drive ?

5 Why do I Need Google Drive Installed? Documents that you want to be able to edit online, need to be uploaded through Google Docs so that you can: 1. Edit a file and collaborate with others easily. 2. Access your files in the cloud, from any computer.

6 Stay Calm and Challenge On! ●Download Google Drive from the Software Center under programs on a school laptop. ●Try uploading any file from your computer to your Google Drive. ●Check to see that it has been added to your Google Drive.

7 Google Docs ●Offers a suite of tools for creating and editing documents 1. Letters, Flyers, Essays… 2. Spreadsheets 3. Powerpoints 4. Forms: collect and organize data 5. Drawings: vector graphics or diagrams ●Customize your settings 1. Keep documents private 2. Share it to edit or view 3. Make it public

8 Accessing Google Docs Find the small gray squares in the right hand corner or you can find the squares on the bottom tool bar.

16 Meaning of Share Settings Anyone with the link should be used for a document you don’t mind being shared with other people. It’s not secure! Public on the web It’s not secure! Specific people (need Google Docs accounts)allows you to choose who you want to see and/or edit the document Choose this

17 Locating the Shared Document My Drive stores the documents you have created. Everyone click on Shared with Me to locate the document that was shared.

19 3.3. 4. Folders have the same sharing permissions. If someone edits a document it changes it for everyone. Even moving it to a different folder. 5. Share folder

25 Google Forms Activity Go into Google Forms and create a technology survey for your students to take next year. You can use this documentation for TESS. Have a partner take your survey. Email it to them and view the results in Google Docs.
