How are we smart? Using multiple intelligences to learn about ourselves By Sarah Lovelidge

Everyone is different!

We all like to do different things. Some love to be with animals....

... while others love to build things.

Some like to play games...

... and others love to spend time alone.

We know we are all smart in different ways, but how can we know how we are smart, and how can we become smarter? Well....

Multiple Intelligences is an idea that says we are all smart, but in different ways. There are eight different intelligences that have been identified so far There are eight different intelligences that have been identified so far With practice, we can all get smarter at any intelligence With practice, we can all get smarter at any intelligence Everyone has all eight, but in different amounts Everyone has all eight, but in different amounts

If you are strong in verbal/linguistic intelligence, you … Like to tell jokes, stories or tales Like to read a lot Think books are very important Listen to radio, TV, and CDs Write easily and enjoy writing Tell people about things that you have read Enjoy crosswords and word games

What does knowing our intelligences do for us? Knowing our intelligences can help us to use the ones in which we are strong to help us learn. We will also know in which areas we want to become stronger.

How can we become stronger in each intelligence? By being with other people who are strong in that intelligence!
