In Spanish there are two gender categories for nouns: Masculine These nouns usually end in –o – El carro – El libro Feminine These nouns usually end in –a – La fruta – La pizza

Singular vs Plural Singular nouns name one of something. Plural nouns name more than one of something. If a singular noun ends in a vowel, add –s to make it plural. If it ends in a consonant, add –es. – Estudiante -> estudiantes – Animal -> animales

Definite Articles Can be used to say “the” with a specific noun There are different forms that agree with gender and number. MasculineFeminine Singularella Pluralloslas

Definite Articles El profesor es simpático. ¿Quiénes son las muchachas alli?
