Making a Bibliography Using the Correct Format

Citing Sources Who What When Where Author (last name first) Title (book, website, webpage) Date published, date accessed Publishing city, website URL

Citing Sources Sansal, Burak. “All About Turkey: The Hittites.” Web. 16 November 2010.

Citing Sources If you cannot find a piece of information required for your bibliography, skip it: No author listed: "Hattusa." Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopedia. Wikimedia Foundation, 4 Nov Web. 16 Nov Incomplete online date: Sansal, Burak. "The Hittites." All About Turkey Web. 18 Nov

Citing Sources When you have collected the correct information from each source and written it in the correct format, alphabetize your sources by the first word in each citation (usually the author’s last name; sometimes the title of the book, article or webpage if no author is listed). See the example on the next slide.

Example: "Hattusa." Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopedia. Wikimedia Foundation, 4 Nov Web. 16 Nov Sansal, Burak. "The Hittites." All About Turkey Web. 18 Nov "Wikijunior:Ancient Civilizations/Hittites - Wikibooks, Collection of Open-content Textbooks." Wikibooks. Wikimedia Foundation, 7 July Web. 16 Nov

Help Is On the Way! Easybib.com Register (Use KSD and password). Save lists. Use the assignment name or topic as the list title. Fill in the blanks. Do some additional searching in your website as needed to find details. Export to Word for print project or use the “Copy & Paste” link for electronic work.
