Slavery in America Objective: Explore the history of slavery in America and the beginning of the Abolitionist Movement leading up to the Civil War. Students will analyze the significance of slavery in America by examining the situation Africans faced in the south and north and determine its long-term effects. Essential Question: What were the main causes and effects of the Civil War? Standard(s): 1.9 1.10 2.1
