What does it mean to be a Title I School? Being a Title I school means receiving federal funding (Title I dollars) to supplement the school’s existing programs. These dollars are used for… Identifying students experiencing academic difficulties and providing timely assistance to help these student’s meet the State’s challenging content standards. Purchasing supplemental staff/programs/materials/supplies Conducting parental Involvement meetings/trainings/activities Recruiting/Hiring/Retaining Highly Qualified Teachers Being a Title I school also means parental involvement and parents’ rights.

PJMS Title 1 Family Education Night Staffing Positive Behavior Interventionist Tutor-Advisor Support After School Study Hall Beginning in September Activity Bus Beginning mid-September (Tuesday-Thursday) Extended Learning Opportunities Extra Supplies/Programs

Family Education Night Possible Topics Include Organization Skills Internet Safety Communication skills School Activities and Club presentations. Title 1 Explanation & Compact Presentation

After School Study Hall Tuesday through Thursday 2:15-4:15 Simple snacks Provided Transportation Provided for Butte and Sutton areas

Activity Bus Tuesday through Thursday Leaves school at 4:30 Transports students involved in school sanctioned activities to Butte & Sutton areas Tuesdays through Thursdays

Extended Learning Opportunities PJMS offers a wide range of co-curricular clubs Clubs… Promote student involvement in school Foster positive relationships with peers and adults Give opportunities to apply academic learning done in the classroom Serve as a way for students to find success

Positive Behavior Interventionist Assist the school in providing responsive behavioral and character education to all students Increased time spent on Social/Emotional Learning for students who need extra support Partnering with families to meet the unique needs of their children

Parent Involvement Parents are invited to participate and be a part of the title 1 team and/or Parent Communication Nights. Family Education Classes Title 1 Meetings will be posted on the school website.
