The Henschke family is one of the longest-established names in the Barossa. Johann Christian Henschke purchased land for a farm at Keyneton in 1861, after fleeing religious persecution in Kutschlau, Silesia (Germany). He planted a small vineyard and an orchard, and after initially making wine for family consumption produced his first commercial vintage in 1868, believed to be principally riesling and shiraz. Each generation built upon the premium quality reputation but it was fourth generation Cyril Alfred Henschke who in 1958 created – Hill of Grace - which was to capture the imagination of red wine drinkers around the world. In 2005 fifth generation, Stephen Henschke & wife Prue uphold the family name & reputation as winemaker & viticulturist respectively. HISTORY

“What’s so impressive about Stephen and Prue is their complete integration of vineyard and winery and the way they value and protect their best vineyard sites. They set a great example to other Australian producers.” Nick Bullied MW

Eden Valley / Barossa Valley The Eden Valley region in which the Henschke Cellars are situated, is recognised as one of the great wine producing areas in the country, with the climate, altitude and soils contributing to the superb quality and longevity of the wines. Hill of Grace Shiraz Cyril Henschke Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Edelstone Shiraz Johann’s Garden Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre Keyneton Estate Shiraz Tappas Pass Shiraz Henry’s Seven Shiraz Grenache Viognier Julius Eden Valley Riesling Louis Eden Valley Semillon BRAND HEIRARCHY

Cyril Henschke Points “…This vintage is a beauty, with electric acidity buzzing through all the richness of fruit, highlighting the fine texture, extending the black earthiness of the tannin. This will reward eight to ten years of cellaring." Wine & Spirits (USA), February 2009 Mount Edelstone 2005 “Exceptional … Superb aroma of red cherry, middle-east spices, dried herbs, and complexity from its age. A great wine that will reward another decade in the cellar.” Dan Burger, Dan Burger's Vintage Experiences (USA), 22 October 2009 Hill of Grace Points “…The exceptional fruit quality reveals little of the fragrant cherry and dark earthiness that will come with time. For now, it's more an elegant, sensual pleasure, notable for its length and for the incipient complexity layered into the tannins.” Wine & Spirits (USA), February 2009

Keyneton Estate Euphonium 2005 “Exceptional....Young and bright, and not at all developed as was the earlier wine, but black currant fruit and spices are exciting. Will age at least a decade.” Dan Burger, Dan Burger's Vintage Experiences (USA), 22 October 2009 Henry’s Seven 2006 “Deep crimson in colour. Aromas of sweet, lifted, spicy blueberries, plums, blackberries, anise and mace, with stone-fruit and floral hints. Showing soft, rich and bright spicy peppery fruit on the palate. The texture is juicy and lush with layers of velvety tannins and great length.” Johann’s Garden 2006 “Bright crimson in colour. Sweet ripe lifted aromas of cherry plums, raspberry, rhubarb and anise. Hints of spicy nutmeg, clove and mace with smoky cedar nuances. The palate is rich and full with supple layered fleshy texture and ripe sweet plum/prune flavours…” Tappas Pass Shiraz Points “…From growers in Tappa Pass and Lights Pass, this shiraz gains intensity from 50-year-old vine. Its tart black fruit contrasts floral notes of violets with a more pungent, feral and meaty character. Both aspects show the wine's youth, as do the tight tannins…” Wine & Spirits (USA), February 2009

Julius Points “…Julius is one of the top Rieslings from the Clare and Eden hills.”… “The fragrance runs from Rainier cherry to lime, while the flavors tighten around an earthy, forest freshness. It's a potent young wine, clean, mouthwatering and lasting in its flavor.” Wine & Spirits (USA), February 2009 Louis Points “The luxurious texture of this wine indicates how saturated the flavors will become with bottle age. The wine's fragrance is more delicate for now, hinting at lemon, meadow flowers and herbs. It has a green, grassy edge of acidity to balance the puff pastry richness…” Wine & Spirits (USA), February 2009

Adelaide Hills In 1980 Stephen and Prue identified Lenswood as the perfect cool climate site to complement their Eden Valley vineyards. Originally planted to orchard fruit, the bushfires of 1983 made planting vines easier and it is now the perfect site for cool climate Chardonnay, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris. Lenswood Abbots Prayer Cabernet Merlot Lenswood Croft Chardonnay Lenswood Littlehampton Pinot Gris BRAND HEIRARCHY

Lenswood Abbotts Prayer 2005 “…Very deep crimson in colour. Sweet, spicy aromas of violets, forest hints, dusty mulberries and blueberries with cedar and fruit cake. A lush, concentrated, sweet ripe palate layered with great texture and fruit flavours; intense and complex…” Lenswood Croft Chardonnay 2007 “…Bright gold-green in colour. Sweet, lifted ripe and complex with pear drop, peach, clove, spice, cashew nut and hints of grapefruit and lemon. A rich full complex concentrated and intense palate with layers of flavors, mineral and apricot kernel, good acidity and texture with excellent depth and length.” Littlehampton Innes 2007 “… Pale green-gold in colour. Fragrant, with sweet, delicate, complex aromas of ripe nectarine and stone-fruits with pear skin, honeysuckle and hints of lychee. Full rich, ripe fruit flavours leading onto fresh, crisp, chunky textured layers of flavour with a vibrant finish…”
