Cowper’s Glands (aka bulbourethral glands): Produce fluid called pre-ejaculate that cleanses the urethra of acid (from urine) to protect the sperm
Female Anatomy Uterus: Houses and protects baby Allows nutrient & waste exchange with placenta Nourishes embryo before the placenta grows Cervix: Bottom section of the uterus Produces fluids to help sperm travel Produces a mucous plug to keep germs out during pregnancy
Vagina: Allows passage of sperm, shed endometrial lining, and a baby Produces fluids to help cleanse and lubricate itself and to help sperm travel A flexible, stretchy tube Hymen: Membrane covering vaginal opening
Ova: Eggs Ovaries: Store eggs Fallopian Tubes: Passage way from ovaries to uterus Vulva: Protect opening of urethra and vagina, like eyelids protect eyes Made up of labia majora, labia minora, and clitoris
