Ávila

Ávila is a Spanish city located in the autonomous community of Castile and León, and is the capital of the Province of Ávila. The population is about 58, 915. It’s natural treasures include particularly the Iruelas Valley Nature Reserve and the Sierra de Gredos Regional Reserve, both ideal places for rural tourism. The city is famous for its medieval town walls (Las Murallas), the best maintained example to be found in Europe. The walls of Ávila are much more than just a simple instrument of war, they are like a book which reflects the history of Ávila and its people.

It has more than ten million visitors. One of Spain's important ports. Mid twentieth century known art collection. Bay of Biscaye Bilbao is the fourth largest city in Spain. Open on Oct 19, 1997.

The Great Mosque of Córdoba was begun between 784 and 786 by order of Abd al- Rahman. The structure was built on the site of San Vicente, the oldest church in Córdoba, which had been constructed over the remains of a pagan temple. The Great Mosque was a testament not only to the continuance of Umayyad dominion, but also to the triumph of Islam in the westernmost reaches of the Christian world.

La Mezquita Continued… When the Moors conquered Cordoba they found a Visigoth cathedral, promptly pulled it down and built a mosque complex who’s walls enclose about four acres and was over 40 years in the making. Over the centuries, the Moors roofed-over and developed more and more within this complex.
