Why change? Success - A student-led conference showcases the important person – the student Responsibility - It holds the student responsible and makes them accountable to their parents Involvement - HEHS has decided this is the next step in linking school, parent and student.

Student Responsibilities Bring parents to conference Explain standards, syllabus, curriculum Collect work to share with their parents Discuss class progress and grade Set and share a goal for each class Share strengths, weaknesses, interests
Preparing for the conference We will have SLC during 2 nd semester We will prepare for the conference during HEAT These lessons will be available online online

I can have more than one conference going at the same time? Yes.
Pre-conference Practice with students Be sure each student has filled out the blank SLC form Invite all parents – notes in HEAT, phone calls and s Arrange room if needed Request students’ teachers to fill out an evaluation form if needed
What do I do? Direct students where/how to start Give directions if student is lost or unsure what to do Be welcoming Be proud of your mentees!
