3. What is student-led conferencing? Students conduct formal conferences with their parents to display their schoolwork and discuss their own learning, goals, and strategies for meeting those goals.

4. Students drive the learning process by taking ownership of their learning. There is tremendous power in this. Students learn to set goals and work towards them. Student work becomes more focused. Students have the opportunity to develop presentation skills. Benefits for Students

Students build portfolios by storing Artifacts (examples) of work for 5 courses English Language Art Math Science Social Studies 1 Elective of choice Students need to submit 2 artifacts per class per week to have a large selection of artifacts to chose from for conference day. 6. Students collect samples of their work throughout the term to showcase their learning and progress. Students select which pieces of work to include in their presentation. Students store artifacts in SLC folders in Student Services. Samples of work should then be evaluated by the students “I do this well” (GLOW); “I struggle with….”(GROW) “I struggle with….”(GROW) What does it look like? Artifacts: GLOW & GROW look like? 12. Conferences scheduled throughout the day in the media center the week of Feb. 8-12 th. Parents will receive info via schoolmessenger, via email, website, and parent letter.
