Warm-Up:  Sit next to someone whose first name begins with the same letter as your first name.  Example: Amanda and Ashley  Your whole table does not need to have the same first letter of their first name

TED Talk  Creativity in Schools:

Journal Prompt Write using complete sentences and use evidence to support your ideas.  Why did you sign up for this class?  What do you hope to achieve? Why is that achievement important to you?  When are you at your most creative, and what inspires this creativity?  What is a creative trait that you admire in other people and why?

Cont.  Pair up with a partner who was born in the same month as you.  Read your journal responses to each other and discuss what you wrote.  Choose either a commonality or difference to share out to the class.  Starting with January partners and ending with December partners, share the commonality or difference you and your partner discussed.

Reflect  Review your journal response and notes from the TED Talk.  Write a one-paragraph reflection on the TED Talk and corresponding class activity.  Write a goal and/or hope for your junior year. How do you plan to achieve your goal/hope?  Write a short letter to me. Include the salutation “Dear Ms. Bochenek,” and conclude with “Sincerely,” and your signature.
