Exploring the Implications...

Review of SNWP Goals (page 2): Continue to expand and nurture our site ’ s leadership Include more TCs in decision making, program design, and implementation Work toward the goal of “ two-deep ” leadership teams Refine the leadership structure that supports SNWP ’ s work Outcomes:  Sustainable, effective, and accountable to the NWP and SNWP TCs  Eliminating the threat of burn-out  Distribution of responsibility, taking into account the vast human resource of our TCs  Promotes continuity as more TCS are invited to participate in decision making Develop and offer professional development opportunities (independently as well as in partnership with UNLV, RPDP, CCSD, and other community organizations) Explore how we can help teachers to use technology effectively and meaningfully Develop PD focusing on CCSD HS students ’ readiness for college English Develop a plan to address readiness issues, provide opportunities for working in schools, and possibly generate funds for SNWP

Review of SNWP Goals (page 2): Continue to explore service opportunities in our area in an attempt to become more visible and to generate revenue for our site Extend our work within the project and into our community Focus on continuity Look for as many ways as possible to involve TCs in meaningful ways with our writing project Continue efforts to cultivate ongoing collaboration and visibility with UNLV departments (C&I as well as English and Composition) and Administration Helps build an ongoing, sustainable relationship with our host university Advocating and making ourselves visible will help to ensure continued funding towards our required match and thus keep SNWP located at UNLV Become more aware and savvy in using resources and opportunities outside of SNWP to support the work and leadership of the site (e.g., NWP, other writing project sites, other professional organizations, etc.)

Review of SNWP Goals: Inquiry Questions  How do we continue to build site capacity?  How do we sustain SNWP and its teachers?  How do we invite, support and organize leadership at SNWP?  How do we increase diversity at our site?
