Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal

The population is 1.2 million people… and 22,500 street dogs.

The Aims of KAT  Reduce animal suffering.  Protect the human population. How?  Animal Birth Control (ABC) program: sterilization and rabies vaccinations  Rescue & Treatment program: for sick and injured street dogs and cats  Public Education program: for adults and children

The KAT Centre’s Animal Shelter

The Results Since it opened in 2004, the KAT Centre has sterilized and vaccinated over 12,000 street dogs. More than 4,000 of these dogs were injured or sick and were rescued by KAT. The KAT Centre’s Education program is changing how the people of Kathmandu think of street dogs.
