BTEC Section Two By: Chambria Dalhouse

What is the role of a performer? Performers entertain audiences, this may be done to educate them, have them laugh or cry. They have various skills and talents in a variety of genres. Professional performers are trained and paid for their work and must fulfil all contractual obligations. Amateur performers are not trained and perform for fun without payment, a performer personality is central to the performers role.

What is the role of a performer? The performer needs to be able to relate to his or her audience and also involve them in his or her performance. Performers should be able to work effectively as part of a team and must realize that other persons contribute, to the success of their work. A performer needs to build and professional relationships with the technical and support teams they also need to be able to interact effectively with other performers.

What is the role of a performer? A singer usually memorizes their music and modifies it by changing the harmony, melody or rhythm to keep an audience interest and usually performs before live audiences, television, radio or movie productions. They also practice singing exercises and they study with vocal coaches enabling them to develop their voices and their skills and they also have to rehearse for upcoming roles. Singers must learn new music that is appropriate for live performances or recording.

What is the role of a performer? Bruno Mars is a singer and the reason why he is a good performer is because his music is original, he taught himself to write, he has a clean image, he also changes with time, he joined his family band at 4 years old, he’s been in the business for 23 years and he can relate to his audience through his music.

What is the role of a performer? Mars has a tailored made image. His music is catchy and timeless, he is melodic. Mars listen to all types of music from Jack White to Amy Wine house. He enjoys his music allowing his audience to do the same.

What is the role of a performer? He blends genres that is why is music it unique to his style. He works with colourful artists who makes his music their own.

What is the role of a marketing manager in the music industry? A marketing manager in the music industry controls the publicity and exploitation of a artist through means of advertisements and other public showings. A successful type of marketing is online marketing that most independent musicians use it helps people potentially hear them.

What is the role of a marketing manager in the music industry? The reason why online marketing is so effective is because it’s to some extent inexpensive comparing to traditional advertisements. It also enable people across the entire world to purchase their music and review it therefore making results quickly seen.

What is the role of a record producer Producers have the responsibility of focusing on a creative vision for the project, they act as an intermediary between the artistic and persons in the technical worlds, they also oversee the logistics of the project. Holy Grail by Jay Z ft. Justin Timberlake was produced by Timbaland and Jerome "J-Roc" Harmon. Timbaland and Jerome “J-Roc” Harmon on the day of its official release in the United States, the album was given Platinum by the RIAA for shipments of 1,000,000 copies.

Do record producers, marketing managers and performers need to work together? Yes they all have to work together in order to make the business and work load easier and more successful, because performers have to concentrate on preforming in an excellent way to keep the audience captivated. Therefore they cannot focus on marketing their material or producing their material. Marketing managers and performers need to work together to discuss about how they will publicize their CD, if they need to go on radio, television or live. Record producers and marketing managers need to work together to discuss how the album will look, what they can add or take away and in a way finalize the whole thing between themselves and the performer.

Do record producers, marketing managers and performers need to work together? No they don’t really need to work together because in the society today a performer can go independent due to online marketing. In my opinion I believe they all need to work together.
