Year 9 MUSIC ACADEMY

During the year you’ll get the chance to develop your performance and theory skills through the use of music and music technology. We’ll aim to nurture your creative flair whilst developing your musical skills with opportunities to work as an individual and within groups. There will be traditional music making, composing, recording and an insight to film, television and multimedia music. You’ll study a variety of musical styles and the industry that is built around it, as well as learning project-management and business skills.
Projects you’ll explore include:
 Music Production
Be involved in the process of creating an album based on different dance styles - from recording, mixing, mastering and distribution.
Audio Media Skills (e.g. podcasts and advertising)
To develop and use pre-production, production and editing skills through the creation of podcasts and advertisements.
Session Musician/ Band Skills 
Work and develop your performance skills through mixed ensembles and a variety of musical styles.
Exploring Musical Composition
Create original musical ideas from given starting points and learn how to develop them to form completed compositions.
Community Music
Exploring different types of community music and creating a project that could be delivered in the local area. j
