1 Large Band name and logo positioned at the top of the page to symbolise its importance. The clear font and colour of the logo is used on the CD they are advertising. This therefore creates synergy between poster and CD, making it more recognisable. Again the title of the album is the same font and colour as it is on the CD, making the connection between advertisement and CD and therefore making it more recognisable. Advertising songs on the album that may be recognisable as they will have been released prior to the album. ‘The New Single’ makes the reader feel they are potentially missing out on the Bands new material if they do not buy the album as it is only available from the 28 th of September, whereas the album is out currently. ‘Out Now’ in bold as this is the most important message on the advert. It also provides a sense of urgency for the reader. Logos of the Bands record label and their own website. Same colours used throughout as well as the same font. This creates a memorable, professional look. This house style is carried on the CD cover also. By using the same colours and fonts on both advert an CD cover, the audience can clearly identify both as being connected, making it more recognisable and therefore gaining more interest and sales. Not only is the font and colours the same but the background image is the same too.

2 The Bands name and logo is positioned at the top of the advert and in a large font to draw attention and emphasise the importance. The title of the album follows the same font and style as the Bands name however it is slightly smaller in font size. Even though it is smaller it is still larger than the rest of the font on the advert and so still gives it a sense of importance. A review is used from a top magazine at the bottom of the advert. This adds attraction to the advert and album as it makes the audience want to find out what is so ‘spectacular’ about the bands music and this particular album. The main pictures used on this advert are pictures of the Band members. This may help the audience recognise what the advert is by the familiar face. It also gives the audience some sense of identifying who they are listening to. This is because just by a glance at the clothes they are wearing, instruments they are carrying and the effect used on the pictures themselves, a polaroid effect, you can straight away see this is a indie folk genre band. Record labels logos are displayed at the bottom of the advert. Advertising songs on the advert that may be recognisable is a good way to attract the audience. By putting this in an outlined box it immediately draws attention. The clear style of this poster straight away identifies with the genre of the band. However the album cover has a completely different style to the advert and so may not be as recognisable just from the advert. The only similar factor is the font used for the title and band name. This advert lacks a release date or an ‘out now’ statement which is unusual and thus defies the conventions of a DigiPak advert

3 The same picture and logo of the bands name is used on the poster and the Cd this creates a recognisable image in the audiences head, this means they are more likely to connect the two if they happen to see the CD in a shop. This too creates a memorable and professional look. The background image is a bit obscure and unique, however by being this way the image will stay in the audiences mind and stay remembered. The bands logo and name is right at the top of he page in a bold font to symbolise the importance. The O’s and C’s are not in bold however to create a unique and original look. The Album title and release date are the second most key thing on the poster. Therefore the font is large and so eye catching. By making the key information large, anyone walking by and just glancing at the advert can be able to see who and when the product is realised. By putting the main information in bold, you can ensure the audience sees this information. This information is the new singles, something the advert aims to entice the audience in with and the ‘deluxe double disc edition’ in bold too to hope to be able to encourage the audience to buy the album as it is special and ‘deluxe’ with extra songs as it is a ‘double disc’ By using there sold out tour dates on the advertisement, audience who may not have heard of the band can see straight away they are a popular band and maybe worth listening to and buying their album.
