Beijing is the first city to have the pollution level off the chart. People said that the air tasted like coal dust and car fumes. Even indoor the air looked hazy. Children and elders were kept inside for weeks. The children were not aloud to go to school, all the schools were closed during the pollution. Everywhere, people were wearing masks. But the health education said that it wasn’t useful because it won’t stop you form breathing the polluted air.

Many of the population suffered from respiratory infections, as well as increased mortality from lung cancer and heart disease. Dozens of flights were delayed because of the so much smoke that the pollution caused. A half million people die every year because of the pollution, some of them have allergies to dust and some of them breath too much from the polluted air. There is 8,572 people that died already in Beijing by the pollution.

Beijing has more than 5 million cars that keeps growing. In Beijing, if you want to have a car, you have to pay for the car and for the pollution that is produces. The normal price for the the car that produces emissions which goes into the atmosphere contribution to pollution and global warming. As a result, all car owners in Beijing are required to pay 5000 RMB a year to offset the cost to the environment. There is also another law saying that it bans every high pollution industry, such as iron and steel and building materials.

Half of the pollution come from cars in beijing! The other half of the pollution comes from high pollution industries.

This picture was taken 3 days ago!

People will probably care because a lot of people died and it might continue and even get worse. There might be triple or more pollution and the trees (that produces oxygen) might die, if we keep on cutting them. The pollution might spread around the whole world and every one would be affected. Some countries that have nearly no pollution might have pollution like today, and the countries that have already lots of pollution would suffer even more. The pollution heats up the earth and global warming (which melts the ice) will spread even more around
