SUCCESSFULLY PREPARING ALL STUDENTS FOR THEIR FUTURES SE 256 TH STREET, KENT, WA | SUMMARY i-Ready End of Year Report SUMMARY i-Ready End of Year Report

SUCCESSFULLY PREPARING ALL STUDENTS FOR THEIR FUTURES SE 256 TH STREET, KENT, WA | SLIDE 2 BIG PICTURE KSD i-Ready Reading scores on average exceeded the national average of other students using the i-Ready diagnostic assessment in grades 6-8. KSD Math scores were higher than the national averages across nearly all grade levels. Good teamwork by KSD Staff and collaboration between district and building staff, and Information Technology, Academics and Innovation and Assessment Office staff. We have reduced the total number of district assessments ~ we no longer administer the Orleans-Hanna test or grade 7 math placement, and the DRP, a reading level test that was administered in grades 6 and 8 for placement.

SUCCESSFULLY PREPARING ALL STUDENTS FOR THEIR FUTURES SE 256 TH STREET, KENT, WA | SLIDE 3 The i-Ready Math and Reading Diagnostics were given at 42 schools at KSD during school year , with three testing windows (Fall – Winter – Spring). The online test involved: 25,718 students enrolled in Math 26,526 students enrolled in Reading 48 District Administrators 407 School Administrators 961 Teachers and Staff BIG PICTURE (Continued)

SUCCESSFULLY PREPARING ALL STUDENTS FOR THEIR FUTURES SE 256 TH STREET, KENT, WA | SLIDE 4 As a district, we are using the information the i-Ready diagnostic assessments provide to help inform and differentiate instruction, and as a measure of student growth. We have also found high correlations between the second window of i-Ready and performance on the Smarter Balanced Assessments. A student’s scale score on i-Ready reading and math is a good predictor of their scale score on the Smarter Balanced ELA and Math summative assessments.
