Presentation transcript:

Introduction to the Regents Admission Index (RAI) Regent Universities are Iowa, ISU, and UNI Highly sought after because they are state schools and therefore cost less than other 4 year postsecondary institutions. RAI formula for admission is: » 2x your ACT score » 1x your H.S. rank » 20x GPA » 5x number of core courses (Eng, Math, SS, Sci, Spanish)

RAI Scores Automatic admission to Regent schools: 245 Scholarships: Distinguished Scholars at UNI 320 and above = $2,500 /year = $1,000/year Below 300 (need 28 ACT)= $1,000/year

How do I Calculate my RAI? WEBSITE CALCULATOR Highest Composite ACT score Current class rank and GPA Core course number – Add up your total core courses (divide by 2) from your transcript. – All math, all science (except Human Life), all Social studies, all Spanish, and all English courses count.

How do I Increase my RAI? The most efficient way is to take more core courses. Each one is 2-3 points. Improve your ACT composite score by preparing in advance. Do your best in ALL your courses to improve rank and GPA.
