Mission II. MISSION The Paul Revere Battalion conducts Combat Water Survival Training (CWST) at 1900 on 03DEC14 Vic MIT in order to test waterborne skills and develop confidence to survive in a combat water environment.

Execution III. EXECUTION Commander’s Intent: Purpose: To teach and test cadet’s confidence and skills needed to survive in a combat water environment. Key tasks: Teach, train, assess and retrain. End state: All Cadets passed CWST and develop confidence in their abilities to perform in an aquatic environment.

Execution Concept of the operation . Phase I: 27OCT14 – 02DEC14. all preparation leading up to CWST which includes issuing WARNO, OPORD, coordinating supply draw, gathering attendance, leader’s recon and ends with a ROC drill NLT 30NOV14. Phase II: 031805DEC14. Begins with the arrival of cadets at MIT Paul Revere Battalion, accountability formation, movement to MIT Zesiger Center, safety briefing by c/NCOIC, and ends with demonstrations and instructions of all the CWST stations. Phase III: begins with the 5min tread water station followed by rotations through the other CWST stations in the following order; 10min swim, 15M equipment swim, equipment removal, 3M drop and ends with drown proofing. Phase IV: begins with final formation, reconsolidation, AAR, dismissal of cadets and concludes at c/BN staff meeting 090630DEC14. .

Execution Task to Subordinates Units: Cadre: c/S-1 c/S-2 c/S-4 CO 1SG Supervise 3m drop, 15m equipment swim, drown/ditch, remedial swimming, and drown proofing stations, 10 min swim test, and 5 min tread water. c/S-1 Attend CWST to maintain accountability of cadets Get a by-name list of who will be attending NLT 30NOV14. Consolidate a list of weak swimmers in need of remedial training and forward it to company commanders NLT 07NOV14. c/S-2 Supervise and coordinate all CWST tasks c/OIC for (CWST). c/S-4 Attend CWST and maintain accountability of all equipment. Coordinate supply draw and stage all items in Merrill Room NLT 021630DEC14. CO 1SG Collect attendance and ensure weak swimmers train at their school swimming pool prior to (CWST). Ensure all cadets have means of transportation to and from MIT and arrive on time ready to train. MSIV instructors Review TC 21-21 (Water Survival Training) and prepare written instructions with demonstrator for assigned CWST stations. Ensure all cadets receive station color band upon successful completion of each station. Give guidance to cadets to ensure quick and efficient movement from one CWST station to the next.

Execution Timeline (03DEC14) 031805DEC14: Cadet arrive at MIT ROTC building 1815: Accountability formation 1820: Initial brief by BC LTC Godfrin 1830: Movement to MIT Z-center 1840: Movement complete 1845: Safety brief by S2 1850: instruction/demonstrations of stations (15M swim, equipment removal & 3M drop) 1900: 5min tread water (A co), 10min swim (B co) 1900: Remedial swim training (weak swimmers) 1930: Station rotation (15M swim, equipment removal by A co), (3M drop by B co) 2035: All rotations complete, cadets move onto drown proofing individually 2100: Accountability, AAR and dismissal of cadets to locker area where they can shower and change into civilian clothes Reports: SHARP violations, accountability at every rotation, all injuries

Coordinating Instructions Execution Coordinating Instructions Uniform: Cadets will report to ROTC building (W59) in ACUs, worn in accordance to AR 670-1 with IPFU shorts worn underneath. Females will wear a one-piece swimsuit underneath their IPFU shorts. Cadets will bring a clean pair of running shoes, 2 clean pairs of socks, Army issued waterproof bag, a towel, soap, and a complete set of civilian clothes with an extra pair of shoes to change into after CWST. All items must be clean before entering the pool.

Sustainment Supply List 18 dummy rifles   1 roll 550 cord 1 CLS bag 1 Table Rubber bands (5packs, 5 different colors) 9 Radios 6 LBV 2 clip boards 6 ponchos Logistics: Class I: None Class VI: 1 Full canteen of water & Soap Uniform: ACUs with IPFU shorts (bathing suit under IPFU shorts for female cadets). IMPORTANT- THE ACU MUST BE COMPLETELY CLEAN AND FREE OF ANY DIRT, MUD. Cadets will not be allowed in the pool with dirty ACU’s, shoes, etc. Cadets will also bring a pair of clean tennis shoes, as well as a waterproof bag, towel, and a complete change of civilian clothes. Transportation: cadets will travel to and from MIT as per school transportation plan. Health System Support: Any safety issue or injury should be reported to any MSIV, who will in turn either report to cadre/lifeguards or take necessary action Emergency: MIT campus police can be reached by dialing 100 from a campus phone or (617) 253-1212 MEDEVAC will be made through 911. CLS Bag will be present and with CDT Murphy Command and Signal: MIT Army ROTC cadre and staff SFC Westberg is NCOIC for this operation c/S-2 c/CPT Simmons is OIC c/SSG Greenwald is c/NCOIC Control Location of Commander: The commander will be at the Zesiger Center indoor pool. Signal Primary method of communication is face-to-face. Secondary is by phone.
