Camp Overview Partnership OCIP & Academic Technologies 20-hours scheduled professional development Lots of hours of open Lab Collaborative and supportive environment Develop/modify a course for blended/online Course development resources QM Standards Checklists Best practices in online teaching and learning

Expectations Online Orientation via Adobe Connect (2 hours) Recording available for follow up viewing 85% attendance Professional Development offerings (15 of 18 hours scheduled) Optional Open Labs from 1-4 PM on July and July 29-31

Can’t Attend 85% Of The Sessions? ● Notify your mentor in advance ● Identify days and times not attending ● Complete assignments in advance ● Plan to attend Open Labs ● Communicate with mentor

Expectations Required deliverables by July 31 –Revised syllabus to meet accessibility –Course map with goals and objectives –Front Page in Canvas –Getting Started Module in Canvas –Course content for one unit of instruction (~ 4-5 weeks) –Camp evaluation

Going Green! Everything single thing we do every day has an impact on the planet! We will be doing our share of going green by: Providing everything in digital format, Using glass coffee cups, Encouraging you to limit your printing, Bring your water bottle, Recycle!

Getting Ready To complete BEFORE camp begins July 22nd: –Obtain Development Course Shell –Review Templates provided –Visit Sample Courses –Look ahead at the “Before Session” column and watch provided videos

What To Bring For 1st Session ●Bring your syllabus in digital format ●Bring any course content you already have as digital files ●You may bring your own laptop

Role of Mentors ● Each of you has an assigned mentor ● Your mentor will contact you this week ● Any mentor is available to assist you in your course development or to answer any questions you may have ● Mentors are available each morning of camp at 8:30 ● Mentors are available during Open Labs

First Open Lab Your first Open Lab is Thursday, July 17th from 1:00-3:00 pm. You will receive an invite to the Open Lab. Please respond “Yes” or “No” letting us know if you plan on attending on July 17 th. This Open Lab time can be used to- Set up your development course shell from Canvas. Review any documents or links from the wiki that you have questions about. Meet your mentor and review your plans for development. Anything else you would like to assist you in making your camp a great experience!
