Presentation transcript:

Sir Walter Raleigh is telling Queen Elizabeth that Spain has treasures.

In 1585 Walter Raleigh organized an attempt to colonize North America English had planned to stay in America. America had become rich on Aztec and Inca gold.

When the ship finally arrived they could not find any people.

When the war was over seven years later they sent another ship.

There were 17 women on the second ship to Roanoke in 1588 were supposed to get supplies ship returned to England – the war delayed it.

In 1587 people landed in Roanoke to start a colony and live there then John White returned he found out that all the people were gone. Also the houses were gone and there was no track of people there was only one small clue.

So they made a search but nothing.

So they went over to the Croatoans and they were gone.

Finally they gave up everyone was gone and it went down in history as the lost colony of Roanoke and I think they disappeared because people kidnapped them.

I think they died of starvation.
