History Key Dates 1  on April 1st, 1932, the Civil Airport of Cluj is established  in 1944, the airport is destroyed during the World War II  between the first reconstruction stage  between traffic development and modernization of the infrastructure  between 2011 – a new runway was constructed at the airport  in 2014, Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport reached over 1,180,000 passengers for the 4 th time in the last 5 years

Location 2 Cluj – in the centre of Transylvania  historical city founded by Romans in 124 AD  the second economic centre of Romania  population: 700,000 inhabitants (Cluj County) & 320,000 inhabitants (Cluj- Napoca)  multicultural region with a huge tourist potential  the oldest academic centre of the country (11 universities, 51 faculties; 100,000 foreign students living annually in the city) Cluj-Napoca
