LESSON 14 UNIT 7 – CONTINUED; CLOZE Daily Communication Spring 2010

Storytellers Part 1 Choose three of the following topics to tell stories about. Discuss these stories with your partner (take 3 minutes telling each story). 1.The most exciting time you had with a friend. 2.A time that you spent traveling with a family member. 3. The first time you visited a big city. 4.The first time you climbed a mountain, visited the ocean, went fishing, or another outdoor activity. 5.Your best memory with your best friend. 6.Your best memory of a family member.

Storytellers Part 2 Form two circles. Tell one story to your first partner. Listen to their story. Ask each other questions such as: -Where were you?- Would you do that again? -How old were you?- Would you go back to…? -Who were you with?- What will you do next time? -How did you feel when…? -What was exciting about…? -Why was … so memorable to you?

Storytellers Part 3 Use the papers provided by Miss Voortman to NEATLY write your story. Write the story as if it was for someone you never met before. Use descriptive words: Write your Name (English and Chinese) and your hometown at the top of the paper. -Colors- Smells- Happiest, Saddest, Depressing, etc. -Tastes- Sizes- Gorgeous, Breath-taking, etc. -Textures- Temperature- Comfortable, Satisfying, etc.

Notes on Presentations Must be 7-8 minutes long. Must have an introduction and a conclusion. Choose one of these topics: Lesson 3: Love and Marriage Unit 5: Crossing Cultures Caedman’s Call song “This World” Joni Mitchell’s song “Big Yellow Taxi” Switchfoot’s song “This is Your Life” Unit 7: Environmental Issues/Social Issues Use phrases and expressions from at least three different lessons in your presentation. BE CREATIVE!!! Do not copy from any other source! You MUST give Miss Voortman a TYPED copy of your script at the beginning of class!!
