INNOCONS Kick-Off meeting - Tenerife – July 27th, 2001 PARAGON LTD INNOCONS Project PARAGON Ltd. was established in 1994, aiming to provide specialized research, technical and consulting services and to promote the transfer of technology from Universities and Research Institutes to the Industry. PARAGON Ltd. combines the extensive knowledge of a group of engineers, all of them experts in their fields, and the capabilities of an efficient management team. This structure gives PARAGON Ltd. the ability to provide: a)management services, b)expert services, or c)participate successfully in R&D and technical projects. Through its continuous participation in joint European projects, PARAGON Ltd. aims to stay at the edge of the technological advancement.

INNOCONS Kick-Off meeting - Tenerife – July 27th, 2001 PARAGON LTD INNOCONS Project Representations In order for PARAGON to be able to offer its high quality services, it is obvious that it has to have access to the top product-lines worldwide. Therefore, through its well- established name in European research, PARAGON managed to secure exclusive representation of a number of well-known firms that excel in their sectors with their high-quality products. Human Resources The personnel of PARAGON Ltd. consists of:  Engineers, experts in their fields.  Highly trained management staff with proven experience in the management and evaluation of projects  Experienced personnel in software development  Experienced personnel in hardware development It should be again stated here that the personnel of PARAGON Ltd. has a great experience in the participation of both National and International R&D projects.

INNOCONS Kick-Off meeting - Tenerife – July 27th, 2001 PARAGON LTD INNOCONS Project  Joule-II Project "Complex Distillation Columns (DISC)", ( ). The project had as main aim to improve the complex non-conventional column design (the new dividing wall columns).  Brite-Euram Thematic Network Action Type I, "Noise Control Materials (NOCOMAT)", ( ). This action was carried out in the Industrial and Materials Technologies research and technological development program. The main objectives of the project were: a) better behavior modeling and understanding of noise control materials, b) better characterization of the basic properties of noise control materials, c) development of new technologies regarding production of noise control materials, and d) improve the control of properties of noise control materials in technical uses.  Brite-Euram Project "Smart House Acoustics (SMARTACUS)", ( ). The project has as main aim to develop active control of sound (ACS) systems to improve the sound climate in buildings by utilizing ElectroMechanical Film (EMF) technology.  Brite-Euram Thematic Network, Type 1, "Statistical Energy Analysis (SEANET)", ( ). The main objectives of the Thematic Network are to: a) bring together the existing, but distributed R&D efforts (essentially academic) in the SEA field through active networking, and b) overcome the barriers which exist today between the academic research on SEA and its application to industrial problems. R&D Funded Projects 1/2

INNOCONS Kick-Off meeting - Tenerife – July 27th, 2001 PARAGON LTD INNOCONS Project  CRAFT Exploratory award, "Complex Exploitation Of Distillery Stillage As High Evaluated Agent For Fodder Mixture (STILEX)", (1999). The main objectives of this exploratory award, is to develop a novel methodology that should reduce the liquid wastes from the production of bioethanol. Bioethanol may be used as a replacement of some crude oil derivatives in order to be used as a car fuel. This exploratory award project has been successfully finished and the full STILEX proposal is in the process of evaluation.  GROWTH Project, "Collaborative Working within the Aeronautic Supply Chain (CASH)", ( ). The objectives of the project are to: a) extend the Concurrent Engineering (CE) research effort in aeronautical SMEs, b) validate in real size and real time CE, new technologies, inside the supply chain, c) contribute to, within SMEs, the accessibility of the general CE economical goals in aeronautics (30% reduction in time to product) and d) disseminate, CE technologies from SMEs to aeronautical SMEs.  INCO-COPERNICUS-2, "Development and Application of Decision-Making Computerized System for Environmental Impact Assessment and Pollution Reduction Management in Chemical Industrial Areas (DEMACSYS)", ( ). The objective of the project is to develop a decision-making computerized system for the environmental-impact assessment and pollution reduction management in chemical industrial areas.  Innovation and SMEs (IPS ) Project, "Promoting Innovation in Construction Industry SMEs (CONSTRINNONET)", ( ). CONSTRINNONET is a construction related innovation project whose objective is to find instruments that best increase the input-output ratio of RTD in the sector. R&D Funded Projects 2/2
