Become a high school English teacher as well as an author Interact with teenagers and participate in school events (I loved the high school environment) Monday – Friday (weekends off to be able to spend with my future family) 8:00 am – 4:00 pm work schedule Holidays off (in order to be able to spend the holidays with my family) Be able to teach what I love for the rest of my life

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with a major/minor in education Student teaching experience (internship) or alternative teacher certification State Certification (Content and Pedagogy)

Typical responsibilities include: Planning, preparing and delivering lessons to all students in the class; Teaching according to the educational needs, abilities and achievement of the individual students and groups of students; Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress, attainment and behavior of one’s students; Providing or contributing to oral and written assessments, reports and references relating to individual students or groups of students; Key skills for secondary school teachers Enthusiasm Imagination Commitment Energy Discipline Public Speaking “If your students believe you care (and your words tell the story0, they will strive to succeed to make you proud” (Leibman).
