 You are at Cape Cod. At the shore of the Atlantic Ocean. You pick up a rock. It looks weird. It slips out of your hands. It was a young sea turtle!

 The oceans are homes to many animals and sea turtles.  Sea turtles are mostly found in the Atlantic ocean.

 Sea turtles mostly eat plants.  Their favorite food is sea grasses.

 Baby sea turtles hatch about 2 months after the mother lays them.  Babies use their egg tooth to break the egg.  Babies have to take care of themselves.

 Almost all people care about sea turtles.  There aren’t as many sea turtles as there used to be.  Some people still hunt sea turtles.  Sometimes sea turtles get caught in nets.

 Scientists think sea turtles can live up t0 100 years old!  Sea turtles are cold blooded. They change their body temperature to the air and the water.
