 The program is 5 years to finish for mechanical engineering at UBC for a degree  The program can be completed either in a longer or short time depending on the choices you make and the career you choose  The program is divided into semesters in which case 2-3 semesters per year  The courses that are required is science courses like chemistry, math, physical education ( how to handle the objects when bringing/making materials), also English. You must complete all of the subjects, have good grades and must have 36 credentials for the first year, in order to pass first year and move on  Some of the electives is design and technology like information technology, Technology education-those sort of things\  There is an on-the-job program but, you must be at the 3-5 th year of engineering so you can start  The on-the-job-component is paid, it doesn't include in studies, it is just a way to get money for themselves  Mechanical engineering is a complete program you can finish to get a degree and graduate, you can extend 2 more years to get a master degree

 For two year program you will get a diploma saying that you finish two years of experience and work.  The credentials you will get is a degree once you have finished the 5 years, but if extended for 2 years you can get a maters degree

 The tuition fee is $5,705.35/yr. x5  Supplies like books, lab studio is $800/yr. x5  B.C health plan is $648/yr. x 5  Person and household is$2,100/yr. x5  Entertainment is $600/yr. x5  Software and gadgets is $1000/yr. x5  Room, Board, Food is 12,000/yr. x5 Estimated cost is $29, total for 5 years

 The entrance requirements must have complete grade 11 and 12  Complete three or more consecutive years of full-time education in English prior  Achieve a grade of 70% or better for provincial exams  Achieve a final grade of 4 or better  Achieve all certificates in the first year  Skills may be anything related like computer decoder, first aid, builder or designer

 The program is preparing you to learn for building and design, math problem of building and designing, business with other companies and more There are a lot of skills that you can use for mechanical engineering  First-Aid  Being a builder/designer of good technology and such  Or just a simple person who knows a lot of tools, designs, ideas, and more

 I think that I would be a good candidate because I like jobs that would include something with technology also I have some interest in mechanical engineering because some experiences with my parents work  I like thinking of things that could be helpful for mechanical engineering  Also have skills that possibly can be useful for mechanical engineering  Before grade 5 I have already been thinking about mechanical engineering that is already interesting to me and I have been studying about schools, mechanical engineering activities and others  I have worked really hard on the grades on other assignments and that I think I am capable of completing the program and pass and get a degree or even a masters degree
