Sending messages from the MDT You can send two types of messages from the MDT to dispatch “Canned” Messages A list from up to 99 frequently used predefined or “canned” messages. To send one of the canned messages to dispatch, highlight (touch) the desired message. “Created” Messages If you need to send something to dispatch that is not addressed by a canned message, you can type in a custom message of up to 256 characters and then transmit it.
