HIPPY Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters A Love of Learning Begins at Home

Did You Know… When Parents are Involved, Children Get better grades and test scores. Graduate from high school at higher rates. Are more likely to go to college. Are better behaved. Have a more positive outlook on life.

Research Indicates… PI in a child’s learning has a significant positive effect on achievement. The more intense the PI, the better the achievement effects, no matter what the age, race, or gender of the child is. The most effective forms of PI are those that include parents working directly with their children on learning activities in their own home.

In Other Words… Programs which involve parents and children reading together, doing homework assignments together, or having a parent tutor a child using materials and instructions provided by educational institutions show the best results!

PI is More than Just Asking your child if his homework is done. Telling your child to do her best. Requiring your child to make good grades. How do you teach your child to value education? How do you instill in them a love of learning?

HIPPY Can Help! Who was your favorite teacher? Why? Did you perform better for her than for other teachers? Did you feel good about yourself when you were in her classroom? You are your child’s first and most important teacher. You love her more and know her better than any other teacher ever will. HIPPY helps you teach your child in a fun and positive way so that he will develop a love of and longing for learning.

How Does HIPPY Work? Home Based, Age Appropriate Curriculum (30 weeks, shapes, books, supplies) Parent Educators (weekly visits at home or school) Group Meetings (dinner, childcare, visitor, role play)

What is our Goal? Have Fun Love Learning Make Progress
