 First episode aired in Saturday November 23,1963 in Great Britain.  Viewers grew steadily, going international a following year.  It ran its first run from 1963 until 1989.

1. The program restarted in 2003 until current date. 2. As of 1 January 2013, the modern series has been or is currently broadcast weekly in more than 50 countries. 3. It has inspired fan work from paintings to knitting.

1. Americans are slowing gaining more interest. 2. The 50th Anniversary special was watched by over 20 million worldwide.

The television series “Doctor Who” is continuing to inspire devotion for hopefully the next 50 years.
