Presentation transcript:

Cell undergoes intense growth. Cells spend most of their lives in this stage. Chromosome consists of only one chromatid. DNA is copied. Chromosome consist of two chromatids.

During G1 phase, each chromosome consists of only one chromatid. After DNA is replicated. Each chromosome consists of identical sister chromatids DNA replication

Cell undergoes intense growth. Cells spend most of their lives in this stage. Chromosome consists of only one chromatid. DNA is copied. Chromosome consist of two chromatids. Organelles are duplicated. Cell prepares for mitosis. Division of the nucleus. 1.Prophase 2.Metaphase 3.Anaphase 4.telophase Cytoplasm divides into two cells.

I.Not all cells complete a cell cycle ex. Muscle and nerve cells They remain in G 1 phase.

II. Mitosis – the division of the nucleus (chromosomes) III. Cytokinesis – division of the cell
