Choosing a career and getting a job are two things any person passes through in his life. There are many professions and it is not an easy task to make the right choice of a job. Everyone should take into consideration that the job must be interesting, well-paid, useful and satisfy all requirements of society and your own interests. I would like to tell you about the profession which I decided to connect my life with.

Now I am a student of the third course of Sarov Technical College. Our college is one of the oldest educational establishments of the town with its own traditions. Its graduates are considered to be the most highly trained, educated specialists in the town. All necessary facilities are provided for them, classrooms and workshops are well- equipped. There are many specialities in our college such as technologist, turner, electrician, state manager and the speciality that I chose is an expert in the science of commodities which gives me an opportunity to work as goods manager, goods supplier, shop assistant and cashier. We study very important subject for our future profession: management, marketing, accountancy, science of commodities and of course our life is impossible without learning English. It is one of my favorite subjects at the college and I pay special attention to studying English.

English is socially demanded especially at the present time when the progress in science and technology has led to an explosion of knowledge and has contributed to an overflow of information.

English is the main international language for communication in such areas as science, technology, business and mass media; also it plays an important role in trade. We have an opportunity at English lessons to receive detailed reviews of export and import of different goods of the countries which we study at the lessons. We discuss current events concerning large companies and their products, we read and translate instructions and descriptions of various products in English. So it goes without saying that the practical skills got in English I can use in my future profession, which, beyond any doubts, I am going to connect with the sphere of trade. It is very important for my profession to know a foreign language, especially English. I am sure that with such theoretical knowledge and great practical skills it becomes possible to go abroad or to deal with foreign specialists coming to our country. And I am grateful for such possibility to our college and teachers.
