Veterans Day Purpose and the Date This date was chosen to commemorate World War1, which ended on November 11,1918 and it is on the 11 of ever November.

Veteran’s Day as a federal or a state holiday Veteran’s Day is a federal holiday because the people who serve in the World War 1 and 2 are celebrated on this day because they did hard work to keep our world a better country by going out there and killing other people from other country.

What Does Veteran’s Day Means To me, it is a special time to remember our service men and women "living and dead" who for 230 years stood up in defense of this great nation. The liberty bell continues to ring because of people like: George Washington, Robert E. Lee, George S. Patton and the Tuskegee Airmen of World War II.
